LAMDA Exams inspire and empower learners across the globe to be confident communicators.
There are no age restrictions - our qualifications are open to anyone looking to gain confidence and experience in speech, communication, and performance.
"Drama has the power to transform lives. We want more people to share in this experience through training, qualifications, work, productions and facilities".
LAMDA
Did you know that Public Speaking remains the No.1 fear for most adults - can you imagine what that must feel like for a child?
We have seen the most timid of children go on to be the biggest performers with our LAMDA classes, proving that LAMDA is a great asset to our students development as young people; many of our LAMDA students have gone on to enjoy very successful careers, all helped by the experiences they have gained from LAMDA.
LAMDA is recognised to award qualifications on the Regulated Qualifications Framework (RQF) in England by the Office of Qualifications and Examinations Regulation (Ofqual), in Wales by Qualifications Wales (QiW), and in Northern Ireland by the Council for the Curriculum, Examinations and Assessment (CCEA).
These classes are for our students aged 6+ who wish to further develop their acting skills and take part in extra classes which prepare them for nationally recognised LAMDA exams (London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art).
Exams are taken at LAMDA, Talgarth Road, London.
There are extra costs for exams - we encourage our students to take two exams each year.
musical Theatre learners develop their acting skills through song. They use vocal techniques to convey the right mood, and engage with the material to form a thoughtful interpretation of the song.
As they progress through the grades, learners explore characterisation through monologues or duologues, which are performed in character and act as an introduction to their songs. They’ll also deepen their understanding of the history of musical theatre by performing songs from a range of eras, and by researching the work and influence of one of its composers or lyricists.
Learners can either take their Musical Theatre exams by themselves (solo) or with a fellow learner (duo).
